E-Coating formed by Attracting Opposites
The principle at work in E-Coating is that materials with opposite electrical charges attract each other. The paint particles are drawn to the metal part and paint is deposited on the part, forming an even, continuous film over every surface. Depending on the polarity of the charge, E-Coating is classified as either anodic (+part) or cathodic (- part). Our E-Coating is cathodic for its superior performance on a variety of metal substrates, as well as high durability and good corrosion and salt spray resistance.
E-Coating Process Sequence
The E-Coating process has a basic sequence that is divided into 4 distinct zones. Pretreatment involves multiple steps to prepare the surface for e-coating: Load, Cleaner, Water Rinse, Rinse Conditioner, Phosphate, Water rinse, Non-Chrome Sealer, Deionized Water. The E-coat Dip Tank is where the coating is applied and the process control equipment operates. The post rinses provide both quality and conservation: Permeate Rinse 1, Permeate Rinse 2, and Water Rinse 3. The bake oven receives the parts after post rinses and cures the paint film to assure maximum performance properties. When this sequence is complete the parts are ready to unload and pack for shipment as per your requirements.
