Cathodic E-Coating for Superior Performance
While either classification of E-Coating is based upon the principle that opposite electrical charges attract each other, we use Cathodic E-Coating for high performance with excellent corrosion resistance and exterior durability. A Cathodic e-coat system applies a negative (-) electrical charge to the metal part, and a positive electrical charge to the paint. In an Anodic process the part would be positively (+) charged and would not provide similar finish durability.
The Steps that Make E-Coating
There is basic sequence to the E-Coating process that is divided into 4 distinct zones. Zone One is Pretreatment and involves multiple steps to prepare the part substrate for e-coating: Load, Cleaner, Water Rinse, Rinse Conditioner, Phosphate, Water Rinse, Non-Chrome Sealer, Deionized Water. Zone Two is the E-coat Dip Tank is where the coating is applied and the process is controlled. Zone Three is Post Rinses which provide both quality and conservation: Permeate Rinse 1, Permeate Rinse 2, and Water Rinse 3. Zone Four is the Bake Oven which receives the parts after post rinses and cures the paint film to assure maximum performance properties. When this sequence is complete the parts are ready. The final step is unloading and packing finished parts for shipment as per your requirements.
